The latest research shows that a regular consumption of almonds reduces your risk of developing type 2 diabetes and heart disease.  Over the course of a 16 week period, subjects who consumed 20% of their calories from almonds showed significantly improved LDL cholesterol levels and markers of insulin sensitivity – some of the important markers for heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
