Can Green Tea Help Reduce Risk Flu Risk?

Green tea has long been associated with a

number of  health benefits, but recent research

suggests that it may also play a role in helping

us to fight infections such as influenza.

In a study which was written up in the Journal of

Nutrition, more than 2000 school pupils were

given anonymous questionnaires regarding

their tea consumption. The researchers found that

individuals consuming between 1-5 cups of green tea

per day had a reduced risk of  catching the flu versus

those who did not drink green tea.  No additional

benefit appeared to be conferred on  children who drank more than  5 cups.
