Indigestion

The term indigestion is commonly used to describe the pain and discomfort in the upper abdomen or chest that can develop after a meal. The main symptoms of indigestion include pain, loss of appetite, nausea, flatulence and burping.

There are a number of causes of indigestion, including gut infections, food intolerances, excess or inadequate levels of stomach acid, ulcers, poor food choices, structural problems, smoking, stress and anxiety. It is also important to rule out more serious underlying conditions and diseases.
