Why I understand how you are feeling...

Like you, I understand what is like to have life ruined by health issues, because I’ve been there. Back in 1995, I suffered with debilitating IBS, constipation, bloating, low energy, brain fog and PMS. At this time, I too, sought the help of a nutritionist and experienced first-hand the difference that diet and lifestyle changes made to my health.

These changes were so dramatic that they motivated me to switch from my successful business career to pursue my new calling in nutritional therapy. After 4 years of study, I graduated from the highly respected Institute for Optimum Nutrition, registered with the complementary and natural health care council (CNHC) and joined the British Association of Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT). Recently I completed a Masters to take my learning to the next level

My philosophy

Many of my clients have seen many other professionals by the time they get to me. They may have been diagnosed with various health issues, but they don’t necessarily know what to do to get themselves well. I use a functional medicine approach to understand how and why your symptoms started and this then helps me to recommend an appropriate approach to helping you feel better. Where applicable I may recommend testing for food sensitivities, nutritional status, bacterial overgrowth, parasites and more

I believe that food should always bring pleasure and that dietary change needs to be tailored to fit in with busy lifestyles and feeding a family. Where possible, I’m an advocate of adding foods into the diet rather than taking too many things out! But where change is necessary I will help you with replacements for frequently consumed foods and menu and recipe ideas to keep things interesting. Often the way we eat as much as what we eat can contribute to many health issues so I help my clients get to grips with meal spacing, appropriate food combinations, posture and chewing.

“There was a time when I never thought I'd get well, but thanks to Paula I am now completely normal. Thanks for giving me my life back!”
