Personal Consultation

At The Nutrition Link we offer you the opportunity to discuss your health goals in a friendly and relaxed setting. As our initial consultation lasts up to an hour and a quarter, we allow plenty of time to discuss your health history and current diet and to understand what you are hoping to achieve. We will outline any underlying factors, recommending further tests where appropriate. We will listen carefully to any dietary likes and dislikes and take account of your lifestyle so that together we are able to develop a nutritional programme that you will be able to stick to and that will fit in with your daily routine.

Sometimes we may recommend natural supplements such as vitamins, minerals and herbs to address specific imbalances in the body. We aim, however to keep these to a minimum as we believe that powerful changes in health can be achieved by making dietary changes.

At the end of the consultation you will be provided with your own personal nutrition report documenting the factors that may be affecting your health, your personalised nutrition programme, background information and suggested meal / snack ideas

The cost for an initial personal consultation is £65. This lasts up to an hour and a quarter. Follow up consultations cost £50 and last up to 40 minutes.

If tests and supplements are recommended these will be charged for separately. Some test costs may be covered by private medical insurance companies. Please check with your insurer.

Consultations are conveniently held at St. Albans and Welwyn Garden City and telephone consultations are also available

Weight Management Programme

Being overweight is a recognised risk factor in long-term degenerative diseases such as osteoarthritis, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. However finding a way to lose and maintain weight is not always easy. Crash diets might work in the short term, but once you start eating normally again the pounds often pile back on and you’re back to square one.

The Nutrition Link weight management programme uses a detailed questionnaire to identify any underlying factors which may be contributing to your weight issues. We also offer body composition analysis helping to understand your body fat, muscle and water ratios as well as the fat around your vital organs. During a one to one consultation we discuss these issues with you and suggest a nutritional programme to help bring the body back into balance. Our aim is to work closely with you so that we can develop a plan that fits in with your lifestyle and doesn’t exclude all of the foods that you like.

To help you stay on track you will receive a pack containing details of your personalised dietary and exercise strategy, recipes and weight loss tips, a food / mood diary (so you can record what you eat and how you feel) and a progress tracker. We will also support you by e-mail in between consultations to discuss any issues you may be experiencing in sticking with the programme.

The cost for the weight management programme is £65 which includes an hour long consultation, free weight management pack and contact by e-mail for a 4 week period. Follow up consultations are also available at £50 each
